Steven C. Burford, 65, of Cherry, passed away March 31, 2013. He was born November 29, 1947 to Robert and Yvonne Burford in Kingman, AZ. Steve graduated from Kingman High School in 1965. He was a registered land surveyor for Rick Engineering for well over 20 years, and lived in Arizona for most of his life. Steve descended from a long line of railroad bums, fruit tramps, and sharecroppers, which most assuredly shaped his lifelong passion for both the history of the railroad and the Old West. Steve was an avid camper, boater, fisherman, pool player, and practical joker, and could always be counted on for a great laugh. He is survived by his wife, Marsha Burford; his children, Rachel Dhaliwal and Daniel Burford; his brother, Robert Burford; a step- daughter Kate Smith; his step-brothers, George, Dan, and Larry Hall; his aunt and uncle, Nora and Eric Belmann; and his grandchildren, Ryley and Rhys Dhaliwal, Johnny and Charlotte Burford, and Parker and Cole Smith. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Hwy 69, Prescott Valley, AZ. Sunrise Funeral Home was entrusted with his arrangements.
