Robert Lunsford
August 13, 1927 - January 14, 2009
Robert (Bob) Lunsford born in 1927 in Ventura, CA. entered his Eternal Life at the Northern Arizona Veteran’s Medical Center Hospice Unit on January 14th with his wife and daughter at his side. Bob & Barbara moved to the Prescott Country Club in Dewey in 1987 to enjoy their retirement years. His hobbies included reading, airplanes, Indy racing, gardening – especially his bonsai collection and his “little people” he loved so much. His military service includes Army service in Korea and the Merchant Marines in WW II. He was a member of the Atomic Energy Project mission in South Pacific. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Barbara; son, Ron Lunsford (Debra); daughter, Carlia (Max); brother, Denny Lunsford; sister, Joan Wiengera; stepdaughters, Theresa Murphy (Jim), Catherine Dennie (Neil); Elizabeth Dewsnup (Tim); eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tuesday, January 20 at Saint Germaine Catholic Church in Prescott Valley. Viewing will be at 9:30 AM, Rosary at 10 AM with services at 10:30 AM with Father Dan Vollmer. Burial will be at a later date in Phoenix, In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either the Northern Arizona Health Care Center, Hospice Unit in Prescott or the Precious Life Shelter (home for unwed pregnant women) at P.O. Box 414, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. We wish to express our gratitude to the doctors and staff of the Northern Arizona Health Care Center for the wonderful care of Bob. God bless all of you.
