Rex William Powell

September 5, 1972 - June 28, 2019

Rex Powell, (46), from Prescott, Arizona passed away on June 28, 2019. Rex was born to parents Neil and Cristi Powell in Omaha, Nebraska. He grew up in Alconbury, England where his Father was stationed with the Air Force. During his time in England, he became a skilled soccer player. He moved to Arizona at the age of 18 to be near his Mother and her family. He became close to his Grandmother and took an interest in his Cherokee heritage. He was hired at the Ponderosa Park Water Company in 1997, where over the years he became an expert in the complexity of supplying water to small communities in desert mountain environments. He achieved a manager status there. In April of 2002, he married his best friend, Julie, and they built a beautiful life together in Ponderosa Park enjoying the adventures of Raising a Son and a daughter. He was a kind and devoted Father. Rex especially enjoyed being a volunteer soccer coach for his children and just being there to watch their basketball games and every school activity they participated in. Rex had many interests and passions, such as gold panning, fast cars, camping, and just enjoying the outdoors. Every interest he pursued, he did it with extreme dedication to learn all that he could. Because of Rex's many talents he was an easy person to be around and, he had an infectious smile that let you know he was listening and thinking of the next adventure. He is survived by his loving wife, Julie Powell, his 14 year old Son, Andrew, and his 12 year old Daughter, Adrianne, and his Father, Neil Powell. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, July 9th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Hampton Funeral Home 240 South Cortez Street Prescott, Arizona
