Larry Sedberry

Larry Alton Sedberry, 73, of Cottonwood, Ariz., went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010. He was born April, 15, 1936, in Abilene, Texas, a son of Alton Eloise and Dorothy Belle (Hutchens) Sedberry. He was married to Helen Groves of Kokomo, Ind., who preceded him in death. On Oct. 1, 2001, he married Mavis P. Lodmell, who survives. He served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1961. He was a former member of the Order of the Freemasons, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Scottish Rite and Shriners. He was a member of Plumber and Steam Fitters Union Local 440 of Indianapolis and Kokomo, Ind., for 33 years before retiring and moving to Arizona. He was a superintendent and took great pride in his work. Larry loved golf, playing cards and working on wood projects. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his wife, family, friends and his dog, Thor. He loved watching football and taking his great-grandchildren next door to pet the horses. Larry always thought of others before himself. He always had a smile on his face and loved to make people laugh. He was a devoted family man and brought so much joy to our lives and he will be deeply missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Don Wesley Sedberry of Kokomo, Ind.; and two stepsons, John Lodmell of Poplar, Mont., and Daniel Lodmell of Cornville, Ariz. In addition to his wife, Mavis, he is survived by three stepsons, Allan (Wanda) Lodmell of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; Steve (Mary Ann) Lodmell and Gary (Lisa) Lodmell of Cottonwood, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Connie (Glenn) Weddle of Dewey, Ariz.; one brother, Ronnie (Sandy) Sedberry of Phoenix, Ariz., and many nieces and nephews. Burial will take place in Heritage Memorial Park in Dewey. Services entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home.
