Jim H. Hale, 72, of Dewey, Ariz. passed away on Sunday May 11, 2014 at his home. He was born in Amarillo, Texas on July 28, 1941, the son of Ham and Ruth Hale. Jim attended school in Amarillo and started a career with the Furr's Company in high school. He started with the Furr's Grocery Stores sacking groceries and transitioned to Furr's Cafeteria's where his career led him to retire after 37 years as Vice-President of Operations. He retired to Dewey, Ariz. with his wife Sue. He was a member of the Bushland Baptist Church in Bushland, Texas as a young man and later became a member of the Masonic Lodge #303 in Wichita, Kan. He enjoyed traveling, loved outdoor activities such as boating, hunting, playing golf and working in the yard. His parents and one sister, Pam preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Sue of the home, a son Scott of Abilene, Texas, a sister, Pat Riojas of Midland, Texas, a brother Jerry of Sparta, Wisconsin and two step-children, Terri Duncan and Mark McNeal, both of Lubbock, Texas. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the Prescott Country Club. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Westmoreland Cemetery in Westmoreland, Kan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Westmoreland Cemetery Beautification Fund. Donations may be mailed to City Hall Box 7, Westmoreland, KS 66549.
