CHARLES "CHUCK" THOMAS LYNCH
June 2, 1937 - April 19, 2022
Charles “Chuck” Lynch, with sons at his side, passed away at the age of 84 on April 19, 2022 in his home in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Chuck was born on June 2, 1937 in Lowville, NY to Ethel Ward and Edwin Lynch. He attended high school at Lowville Academy excelling in music on the trumpet, in the chorus, theater, as well as in sports where he played basketball (captain), baseball, and football (co-captain). With a winning smile, he stood proudly as the senior prom king. Chuck was in the Air Force and was stationed in Iceland where he met his wife Kristin Sighvatsdottir. They were married for 51 years until her passing. They had three boys, Michael, John, and Steve. In Utica, New York, Chuck began his family and his career at Sears & Roebuck. He transferred with Sears to Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and worked as a salesman or manager of Sewing Machines, Major Appliances, and Hardware. From there he and his wife Kitty started their own business, The Whippletree Bed & Breakfast in Lanesboro, Massachusetts. After moving to New Hampshire and working for the Manchester Union Leader, Chuck and Kitty retired to Prescott Valley where they made a host of friends and, as ever, were active in the Lutheran church and local community. They enjoyed traveling regularly to visit their grandchildren. They also relished adventures through America and Europe. Chuck is survived by his partner Linda, sons, Michael, John and Steve, daughters-in-law Darleen and Sheryl, grandchildren Cynthia, Scott and Sydney, grand-daughter-in-law Megan, great-grandchildren Paige and Keelan, sister Charlotte, brother Brian, sisters-in-law Sigríður, Þórdís, and Elín, brothers-in-law Bjarni, Viktor, Asgeir, Einar, and Björn, nieces and nephews, Pam, Charlie, Michael, Jane, Claude, Guðmunda Ósk, Ásdís, Haukur Ingi, Sighvatur, Ingolfur, Kristín, Ester, Brynja, Andrés Gísli and Elías Andri. Services will be held on May 12, 2022 at 10:00am at Sunrise Funeral Home, 8617 AZ-69, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314, followed by a luncheon at the Icha Maajoh (previously called the Eagle’s Nest) at the Prescott Resort at 11:30am, and interred with Full Military Honors at the Prescott National Cemetery at 1:00pm.
